Whelp…. here we go…. today’s blog is coming from my intern Kiyanna Givens….. I told her “your assignment today is to write an overview on your experience here during your internship.” I won’t proof read it IN CASE she says a few flip words about me… She’s still in the building and I’m NOT trying to make the news for all the wrong reasons. I’ve been known to flash owt on occasssssion…. lol

Let’s see what KE-KE on the M-I-C has to say…. *bracing myself*

FROM THE DESK OF KIYANNA GIVENS:

“On July 8th, 2015, I started my internship at max 94.1 with miss LaTangela. I have to Say I am enjoying my time here, The working environment is quite significant and she keeps me occupied all day at work. Thanks to the NBR youth development program, I am able to intern and learn all the aspects of being a radio personality. I learn something new from her everyday and her effort for success motivates my every move. When the NBR youth development program assigned me my job site, I was so enthusiastic, yet nervous. When I first got there, I received this welcoming vibe from every employee I came in contact with. On saturdays, I co-host with DJ JT. He is very educational as well, and has a substantial sense of humor.

To further elaborate about the program I work for, the NBR youth development program is a non-profit organization that partners with UREC to better the community. The program coordinator is Ms. Lauri Patterson . My supervisor Is Trey moncrief. Those two people I just recognized are significantly amazing and very dedicated to their jobs. They care about each NBR fellow (there are ten NBR fellows including myself) and make sure we NBR fellows are excelling in the greatest way possible.

Provided by NBR, on Mondays and Tuesdays, the NBR fellows practice ACT prep in all subjects. On Fridays, we take educational field trips. Our ACT prep instructor is Ms.Lisa. She pushes us to strive in ways we don’t know exist. With NBR, no student is left behind. Everyone is treated equal and that is why I am glad that they chose me to be in this program. There was an interview; I did have to compete for my position. If you, or anyone you know is interested in the program, just be sure to contact UREC/NBR through the website at www.URECBR.com . You can also email them at [email protected] . I just thank God for this opportunity with NBR and my Internship with miss LaTangela and DJ JT. They’ve taught me so much and I can not wait to see what the remaining of this internship has to offer.”
