Chris Brown Calls Attack on Rihanna his "Greatest Regret"
1:38PM Friday
March 1, 2013

The public certainly hasn't forgotten Chris Brown's 2009 attack on Rihanna, and neither has he.  He tells U.K. newspaper the Mirror that the incident is the "greatest regret" of his life, adding that it was also his "biggest mistake."  He says that couples sometimes argue "and things get said, stuff spirals."

Four years after the Grammy night altercation that changed their lives, Chris and Rihanna have apparently rekindled their romance, following months of "serious making up."  The two were affectionate to one another at the Grammys, and have been spotted together cruising around Los Angeles.  It's a sight that some people may find hard to stomach.  "But she loves me -- what can I say?" Chris tells the Mirror.  "I'm forgiven...but, yes, I worked hard for it."

While Chris and Rihanna have moved forward, however, their past follows them.  Comedian Seth MacFarlane mocked the couple during the Academy Awards, joking that the Oscar-nominated movie Django Unchained is "the story of a man fighting to get back his woman, who's been subjected to unthinkable violence.  Or as Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, a date movie."

That kind of stuff isn't new to Chris, who tells the Mirror, "People attack me and criticize me, it happens all the time. ... But they don’t know me, and they don't know us.  It doesn't bother me any more."

Chris says he's "grown up," but some people might disagree.  Late last month, Chris was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with Frank Ocean outside a Los Angeles-area recording studio.  Chris had been at the studio working on his upcoming album Carpe Diem, which is due out later this year.
