Karol G has shared new details about working with Drake on their Spanish-language collaboration, “Ahí,” including how she helped the rapper with his pronunciation during recording.
During a recent appearance on the Popcast podcast, the Colombian singer explained that Drake initially considered performing part of the track in English. She encouraged him to sing in Spanish instead, believing his voice suited the song.
Karol G recalled working closely with Drake on individual lyrics, helping him pronounce certain words and deliver his lines more naturally. She described the recording process as enjoyable and praised his willingness to embrace the language.
Released in August 2026, “Ahí” brought together two major names in Latin and mainstream music. The collaboration also added to Drake’s history of experimenting with Spanish-language vocals, following previous projects with Latin artists.
The song gained attention on the charts, while the two artists also performed together in Houston.
For Karol G, the collaboration was an opportunity to share her language and musical style with an artist known for working across different genres.
