Fireworks Safety Tips

4th of July Fireworks Safety Tips

The 4th of July weekend is upon us!!!! Sure enough we will be spending time out and about with family and friends. Let’s keep safety first! IF you’re planning a fireworks display keep these few tips in mind….

1. Leave Fireworks to the Professionals

The best way to protect your family is to not use any fireworks at home. Check listings at www.WBRZ.com for the firework display schedules in a city near you….

2. Be Extra Careful With Sparklers

Sparklers may be pretty and appear to be harmless, but remember they can heat up to 1,200 degrees.

3. Take Necessary Precautions

Do NOT wear loose clothing while using fireworks.

Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass.

Point fireworks away from people, homes, cars, leaves and flammable substances.

4. Be Prepared

Stand several feet away from fireworks.

Always have a bucket of water and/or fire extinguisher nearby.

If anyone is injured by fireworks IMMEDEDIATELY go to a doctor or hospital.
