Charlie Wilson has reclaimed the record for most No. 1s on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Airplay Chart by a male artist.

Until two weeks ago, Wilson had been leading as the male artist with most No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay Chart, when Usher tied his record.

On the latest chart, dated May 11, Wilson came ahead again, with his song “Superman” reigning supreme.

“Superman” was the most-played song on U.S. adult R&B radio stations in the tracking week ending on May 2, according to Luminate.

“Superman” took the top spot, replacing “Risk It All,” Usher’s collaboration with H.E.R., at No. 1.

“Superman,” released in 2023, is the R&B Icon’s 10th No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay.

Overall, Wilson ranks third among the artists with most No. 1s on Adult R&B Airplay Chart, only behind Alicia Keys (14) and Toni Braxton (11).

“I am incredibly grateful and humbled by the overwhelming support for ‘Superman’,” Wilson said in a press release. “To have another [No.] 1 hit on the Billboard Adult R&B chart is truly an important achievement to me, especially with a song so personal highlighting my wife’s endless love and support of me. She truly put the cape back on my back after very rough times.”

Wilson expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering loyalty and love throughout his career, adding, “This song is also for all women, their strength, love and support is appreciated more than they know.”
